The starting point
Starting Point, the preschool wing of Treamis International School is nestled in a green and quiet area of the green and expansive campus. It is a safe and secure haven for the youngest Treamisians to learn, have fun and inquire their way into gaining important skills and life lessons.
A scientific and well-researched international curriculum, spacious and purposefully built classrooms, well-architected outdoor spaces, dedicated and warm facilitators and a well-connected and dynamic parent community make Starting Point the best place for early learners.
Our Curriculum
The EYP (Early Years Programme) is a part of PYP (Primary Years Programme), follows the International Baccalaureate framework, with a good mix of ‘Playway’ and ‘Montessori’. With the child being the centre point, this unique and tailor-made framework allows our learners to inquire into various transdisciplinary themes, acquire and hone their skills and apply the knowledge and skills to real-life situations, striving to grow up into responsible, caring and empathetic global citizens of the world.
Our Programmes
Pre-Kindergarten (Age 3-4 years)
With fun and interactive sessions every day, the Pre-K (Nursery) program is a gentle introduction to the kindergarten environment. It offers endless opportunities for children to explore and meet success every day. It provides a solid stepping stone to the next level through establishing friendships and independence. Circle time with music and movement is combined with dramatic play, art, building blocks, fine motor manipulatives and science and sensory areas help children grow in important developmental aspects such as fine and gross motor development, social and emotional development, cognitive and language development.
Early Years 1 (Age 4-5)
The EY 1 (Early Years 1/LKG) programme provides the opportunity for children to further develop their social skills as they explore friendships and learn to coexist within the kindergarten environment. They continue their growth in language and social development as they learn to follow the ‘classroom community’ routines, while acquiring STEM skills associated with math and science.
The mentors’ role in this is to support, guide and enrich each child's thinking as well as to provoke discovery and learning through agency. The fun and interactive nature of the programme and the positive relationships between mentors and children build a solid foundation for the children to experiment, explore and challenge their skills as part of their learning journey.
Early Years 2 (Age 5-6)
The EY 2 (Early Years/UKG) programme is a culmination of a child’s journey at our Kindergarten. By the time they leave their beloved, colourful classrooms, the young learners will have acquired all the skills and knowledge required to navigate grade 1, including foundational literacy and math skills. The year provides them various opportunities to put their skills to use and further their understanding of the world around them. It guides them into taking charge of their learning, a key skill that is essential to move ahead through the grades.
What else do we do?
Apart from the exciting academic-related tasks and projects, our learners also participate in various activities designed to facilitate the critical developmental aspects. Physical education and swimming classes, art activities, music and movement, reading sessions, life skill activities and many others lend themselves to the holistic development of children.
Collaborative activities and events are a signature for the learners of Starting Point, that present them with opportunities to perform and build their confidence.
